Retreat Growth Assessment

Work through steps 1 to 4 for each referred retreat: brief before the call, notes and numbers on the call, plan after it. The Blueprint is the methodology behind it.

Client New client, not saved

A commercially grounded assessment that identifies the most effective opportunities to attract guests, convert bookings and build long-term retreat demand. One repeatable methodology, a bespoke growth strategy for every retreat.

Start with the retreat economics. Understand the audience. Identify the opportunities. Invest where there is the strongest potential to convert.

1

The six assessment pillars

01

Commercial viability

Ticket price, guest capacity, Soul Bliss wholesale cost, facilitator expenses, fixed costs, payment terms, target margin and minimum viable occupancy.

Outputs: maximum marketing allowance, target cost per booking, break-even occupancy, occupancy scenarios.

02

Audience and demand

Ideal guest profiles, geography, retreat theme, price positioning, comparable experiences, seasonality, existing communities and barriers to booking.

Outputs: primary and secondary guest segments, positioning, demand signals, messaging.

03

Digital presence and AI discovery

Website, mobile booking experience, search visibility, retreat page, social, testimonials, email database, enquiry handling and presence in AI recommendations.

Outputs: digital readiness score, conversion improvements, discovery opportunities.

04

Distribution and partnerships

Wellness publications, podcasts, PR, yoga studios, complementary practitioners, community boards, micro-creators, referral programmes and, selectively, marketplaces.

Outputs: ranked distribution shortlist, channel costs, partner outreach list.

05

Channel prioritisation

Score each opportunity on audience fit, commercial efficiency, speed, existing assets and execution effort.

Outputs: primary, supporting and test channels with budget allocation and rationale.

06

Growth roadmap and measurement

Booking milestones, activation dates, enquiry targets, channel owners, review checkpoints and contingency options.

Outputs: month-by-month roadmap, budget, booking forecast, reporting.

2

Two growth pathways

One assessment, two pathways depending on the facilitator's existing audience. Hybrid facilitators sit between the two: follower count alone does not predict bookings.

3

Owned and earned first

Social, search, partnerships, PR and local community boards are the core growth engine because they build demand the facilitator owns for future retreats. Paid distribution is an optional, evidence-led layer.

Marketplaces are used selectively: as an inventory recovery channel for final places, when bookings fall behind forecast, and only when each booking still contributes positively after commission. Listing early and removing later is not recommended, as some platforms charge commission on guests who first found the retreat there.

A retreat partner kit (imagery, short description, facilitator bio, approved captions, email template and a tracked referral link) lets studios and teachers promote the retreat without creating their own materials.

4

Channel scoring

An initial screening tool, not a prediction of bookings. Choose a channel and adjust its scores.

5

The retreat growth roadmap

Built backwards from Soul Bliss payment dates (50% of the balance four months before, final balance and guest numbers two months before), not just the retreat start date.

Months 12–10

Foundation and positioning

Complete the assessment, confirm economics, refine the offer, build the retreat page, activate existing audience.

Months 9–7

Awareness and partnerships

Studio and community outreach, PR pitching, creator collaborations, content, lead capture and nurture.

Months 6–4

Conversion and optimisation

Review enquiries and bookings by channel, activate referrals, strengthen social proof, paid only where the numbers support it.

Months 3–2

Booking milestones

Focus on high-intent enquiries, review remaining places against payment deadlines, marketplace for final places if needed.

Final month

Guest experience and future demand

Pre-arrival journey, testimonials, referrals and the foundations for the next retreat.

Quality standards

  • Separate verified figures, published costs, estimates and assumptions.
  • Include commissions, media, production and agency fees in the total marketing allowance.
  • Measure bookings by source where possible, recognising guests touch several channels.
  • Never promise inclusion in AI recommendations or a sold-out retreat.
  • Name who owns each action: Pixel Primed, Soul Bliss or the facilitator.
